Bear Mountain FireSmart Community Preparedness Evening

Hosted by the Bear Mountain Community Association (BMCA)

Tuesday, July 14th from 7 pm to 9 pm

Westin Bear Mountain – Highland Room (L1)

Join us for an informative community evening focused on wildfire preparedness, FireSmart practices, and emergency readiness for families living in Bear Mountain and surrounding areas.

Residents will learn practical steps to help reduce wildfire risk around their homes and properties, understand emergency preparedness strategies, and gain valuable information about local risks and response planning.

As highlighted in Langford’s Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan, the Bear Mountain interface area is considered one of the city’s higher-risk neighbourhoods for potential wildfire events. This session is designed to help residents feel more informed, prepared, and confident in the event of an emergency.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding wildfire risk in the Bear Mountain interface area

  • Identifying common risks around homes and properties

  • Practical FireSmart mitigation strategies
