Bear Mountain Parkway – Flint Avenue to Marble Road Construction Update

Developers on either side of the Bear Mountain Parkway are continuing to work toward completion of the ultimate configuration of this section of road between Flint Avenue and Pinehurst Terrace. The current phase of works is the area from Flint Avenue to Marble Road only (Phase 1). This work is scheduled to complete some time in June of this year. The exact schedule will be weather dependent for paving and concrete pours – dry and warmer temperatures are needed for this work. Residents will continue to experience some traffic delays as this project gets to completion.

A new roundabout will be constructed on Bear Mountain Parkway at Marble Road/Upper Flint Avenue as part of the Phase 1 works. This is where the new elementary school site is located as well as a daycare site (uphill side of Flint Avenue at Marble Road where the retaining wall was just constructed). The City has worked closely with SD62 to ensure proper access and egress to this new school site, including provisions for dedicated school bus pick up and drop off on Bear Mountain Parkway with safe sidewalk access on the school side of the road downhill of the pending new roundabout.

Phase 2 of the Bear Mtn Pkwy works from Marble Road to Pinehurst are in design. A completion date for that is pending.
